New purchase to cost $7.3 Billion by Kingfisher.
kingfisher-airlines.jpgKingfisher hopefully tried sigining MoU with Airbus to buy up to 50 wide-bodied, long range aircraft at an estimated $7.3 billion at list prices at ongoing Paris air show.

An Airbus statement quoting Kingfisher CEO vijay Mallya made the baron's intentions clear:"Our strategy is to open new long haul routes and expand existing ones. With the A 340-500 and then the A 350 XWB we will be able to offer direct routes between India and the United states. The A 330 will allow us to expand services to Europe and the A 320s will help us to meet demand in our home region."

The agreement is for A 350-800 XWBs in addition to the five converted from thier original order for the A 350, 10 A 330-200s, five A 340-500s and 20 A 320 family aircraft.

After this MoU, Kingfisher Airlines and its partner airline Air Deccan can now have a commitment for a total of 176 Airbus aircraft covering the single aisle, widebody including the A 380 and the Airbus corporate jet.

What's exciting the management most is the low sales tax on ATF these planes would enjoy. Big aircraft are charged a 26 to 28% sales tax on ATF and for those weighing less than 40 tonnes the tax is just 3%.

These planes will be deployed on routes like Delhi-Khajuraho/Vadodara and Mumbai-Bhuj.

Offer turned down by SpiceJet
Spicejet-airlinesSpiceJet which is considered to be well funded airlines in India, has no plans to sell its stakes in near future. This news was revealed as Vijay Mallya of Kingfisher recently claimed he was interested in the second most low-budget carrier in India.

Though Vijay Mallya earlier had stated that he never initiated the talks between him and SpiceJet, he was interested if any approach was to be taken by SpiceJet.

'SpiceJet strongly denies this and would like to reiterate that there is absolutely no plan to sell any stake in the company to anybody,' the airline said in a statement.

Stake holders of SpiceJet namely the the Kansagras, Ajay Singh and the Istithmar Holdings denied that no approach has been taken by them to sell or give away the stakes.

'I am not a predator,' he said. 'If SpiceJet is interested, I am sure they'll invite me,'said Mallya.

SpiceJet is one of the best-funded airlines in the country with a large cash reserve to fund it expansion. There is no requirement to raise any funding at this time,' the statement added.

Kingfisher eyeing another stake takover in SpiceJet.
Kingfisher-airlinesNow Vijay Mallya is planning to get some stakes in spiceJet airlines. The thirst to get control of Second low-cost airline in the country is getting heated up, as Kingfisher group is eyeing for this deal.

But, now we need to wait and watch, how will SpiceJet respond, in negative or positive. After making the deal with Air Deccan, India's largest low-cost airline, this deal would mean the quality and standards of airlines and relationships between aviation industry may increase.

This news is only a hint given by Kingfisher group. At present SpiceJet flies 83 daily flights reaching out to 14 cities and holds 9% market shares.

Vijay Mallya responded in positive tone saying "I am certainly interested, and if you are asking me if I am talking about it, the answer is no. Am I going to get it? The answer is I don’t know.”

“I respect the independence of the SpiceJet shareholders and board. If they want to do something, I am sure they will invite me to talk with them. If they don’t want to do anything, we will just work together because a part of my strategy in acquiring Deccan Aviation was to make sure that the industry becomes more profitable and that everybody works together to achieve that", Said Vijay Mallya.

The agreement breaks, Paramount and Embraer.
paramount-airwaysThe Embraer, the Brazilian aircarft-maker which had made the news going on, that deal between paramount airlines of 2 billion will take place soon, has recieved a bolt recently.

On the Contrary of carriers executives, previously stated, the recent developments of agreements may not go ahead, since the talks between them and Paramount is still going on. And we may not see the proposed deal taking place as there are initial signs of slowdown process.

"There has been a certain stabilisation of airfares and traffic in the world's big-gest market, the US, though at high levels," said Frederico Fleury Curado, who took over from Mauricio Botelho in April.

We may expect a new turn around in the news as the deal may not take place in the Paris show were many new deals between airline gaints may take place soon.

Private airlines soon to fly Internationally.
private-airlinesAs we read previously, there was news rounding up that private airlines could be soon flying to gulf if they have completed 3 years of domestic flying in Indian skies, but according to news revealed recently, the cabinet were group of Ministers(GoM) referred that the private airlines which were started close to 2005 in India, may be getting permission to fly international destinations even though they have not completed 5 years in domestic market.

So the Union Cabinet are looking up to set up GoM as to do detailed research on this issue, so that required results can take place.

Praful Patel, Civil aviation minister firstly decided to reduce the 5 years term to 3 years if the private airlines have served domestic flights in India. But now the plan is such that, based on the finance and fleets of the airlines, they may be given the go ahead signal to start opearting international flights.

If this plan is implemented  then airlines such as Kingfisher, Paramount Airways, IndiGo, Air Deccan and SpiceJet may be given the green signal to fly abroad. All the other policies will be deduced if the airlines can operate in International standards and have enough capability to expand its fleets.
