 In Indian History of aviation, it is first time that Air India has opened doors to buy another airline which is an International airline, that is to buy controlling stakes in Jat Airways(Serbia's national airline).The Chairman of the merged airlines (Indian airlines & Air India) Mr.v.Thulasidas is looking forward with this move saying “We have asked our consultants to look into the Jat Airways project." Also the Serbia's national airline, Jat Airways will consider a partner for privatisation within June. With the visit of Jat Airways CEO earlier this year for this purpose has opened the ways for deal to take place in near future. And the main prospect of this deal is that, the merged airlines (Indian airlines & Air India) will get stronghold in the European market. That is Air India can use Jat Airways rights to function within Europe and further move abroad from there.
